Stena Clyde Commemerative update

STENA CLYDE COMMEMORATIVE EVENTS to mark the 1st anniversary of the two fatalities  - Tuesday 27 August 2013

The union movement will gather in Melbourne and Perth on Tuesday 27 August to commemorate the first anniversary of the two fatalities on the Stena Clyde. The union movement will call on NOPSEMA to conclude its investigation. Mr Borowick from the ACTU said "It is now almost a year since two workers were killed in a single workplace incident on the Stena Clyde (a mobile offshore drilling facility) in the Bass Strait" and "NOPSEMA is still continuing its investigation into the fatalities. No charges have yet been laid and nor is there any indication from the regulator about when it might conclude its investigation".

The commemorative events will be held as follows and we encourage the participation of Members especially Members working in this inherently dangerous industry.

Melbourne event: 12.00pm at 493 St Kilda Road, Melbourne

Perth event: 10.00am at MUA offices, 2 -4 Kwong Aly, North Fremantle
