Inquiry into Temporary Work Visa's

Inquiry into temporary work visa's - tell the AMOU your story

The Federal Parliament is holding an Inquiry into the impact of temporary work visa's on the Australian labour market.

The Inquiry will consider, amongst other matters, the impact of temporary visa's on:

  • Wages, conditions, entitlements and safety of Australian workers;
  • Employment opportunities for Australians; and,
  • Training and skills development in Australia.

The Report of the Inquiry is due mid May 2015.

The AMOU will make a submission to the Inquiry on behalf of members.

The inquiry process and the AMOU submission gives members the chance to directly tell MP's the effect temporary work visas have had on their work opportunities and our industry.

The AMOU is looking for relevant case studies to be included in our submission to highlight the impact of the use of temporary overseas workers has on our maritime workforce.

Jarrod Moran in our Melbourne Office will be co-ordinating the development of the AMOU submission.
